Side-by-side photographic style image showing women in their 60s and 70s in their element: on the left, two women in their late 60s hiking together on a scenic trail, laughing and connected with nature, silver and white hair, natural aging; in the center, a woman in her 70s fully engaged in a welding or metal sculpting class with sparks flying, wearing protective gear, confident and focused, grey-haired; on the right, a woman in her 60s working gently and confidently with a horse in a sunlit paddock, white hair, warm smile. All women look vibrant, vital, and joyful. Warm golden-hour lighting. Realistic, cinematic, empowering. No text.

Explore

As the familiar roles that have shaped my life fade into the background, I find myself experiencing a restless stillness. In this quiet space, a sense of opportunity is emerging—the chance to explore and discover my self as an individual entity with no big strings attached. I think losing our indivduality begins pretty early on as the labels of who we are supposed to be grow and multiply, each demanding another piece of attention and energy, and which continue to morph and overtake over time. By kindergarten we adopt the role of student and group member and as you know the roles grow and shift over time.

So, who am I now as the roles fall away as I have time to ressume my becoming? I have experienced a gradual sense of release and reprieve and an invitation to explore. I feel gently encouraged to connect with the essence of self without full definition and freedom to explore. Each morning, I wake up to a brightly colored palette of possibility, “What will I choose today?” I admit that there is some struggle involved as I attempt to break free from my voice of judgement over personal productivity.

Evolve

This space is dedicated to capturing my ongoing journey and connecting with others who are at similar points. It’s a place to turn inward, reignite curiosity, develop interests, and discover the adventurous spirit I hope that I am. I am nixing the need for a mapped out plan and moving forward seeking to fan the creative spark that I believe is there. This space is intended for likeminded others to share stories of becoming.

Engage

Take a quiet momentTake a quiet moment with a journal and a cup (or snifter) of your favorite drink to consider these questions:

  • Unspoken Dreams: What is something you loved doing years ago that you quietly set aside to make room for responsibilities?
  • Permission to Pause: If you gave yourself full permission to say “no” to one expectation this week, what space would open up for you?
  • The Next Chapter: What is one word you want to define this current season of your life?
